…and which ones you can expect to continue on in 2018!

In case you didn’t know…

The health and nutrition industry has taken quite a big turn since the early 90s.

People are more involved with their health and are looking for new ways to improve it.

With that in mind, I have the top trends that occurred in 2017 and are posed to continue on into 2018.

As the nutrition landscape changes, it’s important for you to know—and understand—what trends you should expect to see that could totally change your life and your fat loss.

Let’s take a quick look…

The Top Trends in 2017 (and probably continue into 2018)

When it comes to improving your health…boosting your energy…and boosting your weight loss, you need to consume the right foods to accomplish your goals.

But what foods should you be eating?

That’s a great question and one that has changed over the years.   Since the early 90s, the scope of nutrition and health has changed quite dramatically.

Foods that were forbidden to eat…are now a staple in people’s diets.

Thanks to veganisms and vegetarianism, more and more people are looking to alternative protein sources in order to improve their health and even lose weight.

But don’t worry meat eaters, meats are definitely making a comeback!

Let’s take a closer look at the different nutrition trends that you should expect to see continue into 2018:

1. Watermelon Water

People who drink coconut water should take notice—watermelon water is seriously giving it a run for its money.

The refreshing taste and nutrient profile is making watermelon water a topic of conversation for those looking to improve their health—and boost their fat loss.

Packed full of nutrients—including lycopene, potassium, and natural sugars—watermelon water may be a refreshing drink that packs a ton of nutrition.

Besides the impressive antioxidant profile, watermelon water also contains a day’s worth of potassium—which could help regulate your blood pressure!

2. Natural Sweeteners vs. Processed Sugar

In case you haven’t heard, sugar is the new “bad guy” in the health industry—and rightly so!

With society's collective weight ballooning every single day…and more and more deaths associated with sugar…

It’s no wonder why sugar is the culprit to many of our biggest health problems.  And this is why people are turning to more natural sweeteners, such as honey and maple syrup.

This trend should easily continue into 2018 as more and more people are becoming increasingly aware of how bad sugar is for your health.

3. More Awareness of Protein Intake

Everyone knows how important protein is for your body and your health.  Not only does it help build lean muscle mass (boosts your metabolism) but it also is needed for countless functions in your body.

And this is why protein will be a focal point in the coming years as a major nutritional component.

Research has shown that including more high-quality protein sources in your diet will help maintain optimal health—especially for those who have hit middle age.

Expect more focus on higher protein intake in the coming years.

4. The “Fat is not bad” Movement

Remember back in the 80s and 90s when everyone was scared to eat fat?  I sure do.

But it turns out, the whole “fat is bad” craze was more hype and smoke than actual fact.  As the research continues to mount, it’s safe to say that small amounts of “good” fats are much needed to improve your health and even boost your fat loss.

The low-fat trend should continue to fade out, with more and more people opting for the nuts, avocados, and coconuts as a primary fat source.

5. “Waist” not Want

For years, restaurants and fast food chains have been in a super-size mindset—everything bigger, more calories, and more food.

This has certainly contributed to the rise in overweight and obese adults and children.  But in 2017, this trend has started to change for the better.

More and more restaurants are simplifying their menus and making portions significantly smaller.

Not only has this added to their bottom lines (less wasted food going in the dumpster), but it’s helped patrons cut down on their total caloric intake.

Even though not all restaurants are doing this..

…the ones that are doing this are enjoying happier customers who are thankful for the smaller portions!

6. The “Bowl” Meal

Have you heard of the bowl meals?  Bowl meals have been a staple in many different Asian cultures.

In fact, eateries located in Japan and China often serve the entire meal in a bowl, which cuts the portion size down considerably.

The whole purpose of the bowl meal is to serve a simple, yet highly satisfying meal for lunch or dinner.

Not only does this cut down on the portion size (therefore the calories), it’s much simpler to clean up..

Expect this trend to continue well into 2018 and beyond.

Where to go from here…

Although trends seem to come and go, the nutrition trends of 2017 seem to be here to stay.  And this should be refreshing news for those who are looking to improve their health and boost their fat loss at the same time.

Even though some of these trends have been around for a few years, it will be surprising to see which trends of 2017 will stick around the longest.

If you wanted my guess, eliminating sugar, eating more healthy fats, and the simpler, calorie-friendly meals (think the bowls) will stick around the longest as more and more people are looking to improve their health and boost their weight loss.

But you must beware…

These trends are certainly a step in the right direction.  However, there are many other changes that need to occur in order to truly protect your health…fix your energy levels…and restore your damaged metabolism.

Although there is no simple fix to all your nutrition and weight loss issues, there are certainly steps you can take to transform your body and your health.  On the next page, we would like to offer you a pretty simple solution that could do a number of great things in your body.
